I've been crafting for some years now!
It all started when I was on a caravanning holiday in the 80's when all we had was rain, rain and more rain. Stuck in a caravan, everything wet, I decided to go into the nearest town (Scottburgh) and find something to do. There was a little bookshop where I found a book on candlewicking and next door was a small habby shop which supplied all I needed to make a cushion cover; I was all set. It took a while but I taught myself candlewicking and basic embroidery and proceeded to make cushion covers and quilt blocks by the dozen. I then went on a course on how to assemble the cushion covers and make gifts for the home (the quilt blocks are still in the cupboard!!).
Some years later I met someone who gave decoupage classes and learned all about that, adding various little treasures to my home.
I first started rubber stamping with Lynne Finnaughty about 5 years ago and couldn't have wished for a better teacher. I have also been to a class with Niki Zipp and deeply regret not having done more.
Then along came Keen on Crafts ....... I was exposed to so many other things and as a result tried many other crafts and met some wonderful people in the process including Elna Wolhitz who inspired me to get more involved with paper crafts.
My passion is paper crafts and I love making cards, rubber stamping and especially creating wedding stationery.
I still play with pewter, do the odd bit of calligraphy, decoupage, etc. etc. As long as I'm crafting, I'm happy.
We will soon be starting renovations to our home and will have 4 lovely self-catering cottages for crafters and anyone else who would like to spend some time in this gorgeous neck of the woods.
